I need a local store in Chicago. . .Target, Walgreens, Walmart, don’t have it. . .I don’t want no kooky home remedy suggestions, I’ve heard them all. I want to be able to go to the store right now, buy something, spray it on my matress, & get it over with!!!
Thank you.

2Lysol spray (in a can) is the best thing — or any disinfectant spray will work also. Not just a "smelly" or air freshener spray. Has to be a disinfectant spray. Spray the bed enough to dampen it really well (not completely saturate). Do BOTH sides! When one side has dried, vacuum it — yes, vacuum it! Vacuuming sucks up all the dead mites and also any that are left alive. Then flip the mattress and do the other side, let dry and then vacuum. Otherwise, you won’t get them all. Make sure both sides are completely dry before vacuuming and then make it up with sheets, etc. like normal. Oh, and don’t forget to also spray your pillows!! Dust mites are in pillows too! For a queen sized bed, expect to go thru one large Lysol can and part of another can.
You can vacuum the beds every week to get rid of any new mites (which happens, so don’t worry). And spray with Lysol and vacuum once every couple of months to keep it disinfected.

3Fabreeze has a spray on the market for it. it is more then the regular type. I saw it for around $6.00 at Walmart. I also vacuum my mattress once a month or so. You would be surprised how much dead skin cells and mites are on it.

4Strip your beds and laundry everything and be sure to use bleach. Make up a bottle of spray bleach (mostly water-qt of wter and 1 lid full of bleach) and spray the bed, both top and bottom, and all 4 edges. If you can take it out in the sun…..would be even better. The mites will not like the spray or the sun. You can respray it a couple of times, but one day out in the sun should do it and have time to dry.
