   You should regularly vacuum your mattress, drapes and rugs. Also cover your mattress with a cover which prevents the mites from reaching the surface. There is also a spray which can be used to kill the mites, called DustmiteX. You mix it with water and spray it on the surface, or you can even mix it to use in a carpet cleaner. There is also a home remedy involving tea as tannic acid can help control mites but it’s a bit of a pain since tea stains most fabrics.

   Add Lysol to the detergent when you wash your linens.
