I woke up to my daughter coughing during the night and sent my husband in to check on her. Her whole mattress was covered in vomit, and she appeared to be still sleeping. We got her up, bathed her and scrubbed everything down. This happened about half an hour after her early morning bottle of milk (4 ounces). She threw up again when I was drying her off after her bath, and again about 20 minutes after we put her back to bed. She seems fine now, and ate her lunch as usual. I gave her a sippy cup of Pedialyte (which she loved!) to try to replace the lost fluids. She does not have a fever. What could have caused this? This is the first time she’s EVER been sick. I did check her milk, and it is not spoiled or expired. Last night was the first time she ate very much pasta (we made turkey pasta casserole) and it seemed unchewed when I was cleaning it off her sheets. Do noodles do this to toddlers? Should I not give her pasta again? Or is it more likely that she picked up a stomach bug at our playgroup (first ever) 2 days ago?

1i know for myself that that kind of pasta will upset my stomach if i eat a lot of it especially if its late at night. toddlers tummies are still so sensitive at that age that it could well have caused it. i gave my son chilli con carne (no chilli just mince and beans basically) at 17 months for the first time and i heard a little cough at about 2 am but didn’t think much of it until the morning and he had gotten sick too and just went back to sleep. i felt horrible!!! but it was not digested and my guess was that he was not able for the beans. i haven’t tried them again (he’ll be 3 soon) but i think it’ll be a lot better now.
also my son had an intolerance to potatoes up until recently. he was 6 months the first time he had them and woke up getting sick. he is fine with potatoes now (peeew its so difficult to avoid when you have to!!).
if she seems fine then i would either try a small amount of pasta and maybe for lunch rather than dinner and see if she is able for it. otherwise, give it a few months and try again. their stomachs become much more "robust" as they get older.
have you ever been so in love?

2The same thing is currently happening with my 11 month old son. I have no clue whats going on. He has been eating EnfaGROW Vanilla and Enfamil (the gold labled one)
I certainly hope that its just a bug too! It sounds like a bug to me .
