I’m currently not working and can not afford much of anything.. Therefore, I can not afford an exterminator or even plastic bed covers.
What I have bought is hot shot bed bug and flea aerosol spray.
My concern is using it on my mattress.
I do not own and can not afford a steam cleaner.

A recent television ad selling mattresses said that one reason you should replace your mattress every eight years is because it doubles its weight in dust mites every eight years. Can that possibly be true?

I was looking at futon type beds (due to them being cheaper) and my local shop offers organic beds (US) made.
Bed one is a western futon and probably needs a frame.
pros- dust resistant, platform bed makes it higher off the ground (less complaining from the bf)
