I was looking at futon type beds (due to them being cheaper) and my local shop offers organic beds (US) made.
Bed one is a western futon and probably needs a frame.
pros- dust resistant, platform bed makes it higher off the ground (less complaining from the bf)
cons – price. Cheaper than a mattress of similar type [...]

the directions were:
rubbing alcohol and water, half and half, in a spray bottle, air to dry, then vacuum before putting clean sheets on.
It is supposed to decrease dust mite life and kill dust mite feces. Is it possible that it helps?

I've seen some that are vinyl (cheapest), polypropylene, and cotton (most expensive). But I've also read that cotton doesn't work 100% against dust mite feces (which is actually what most people are allergic to).
Anyone have any insight?

Does anyone have any tips on getting rid of dust mites (or at least preventing them from causing allergies)? I have dust mite covers on my mattress, box spring and pillows. What vacuum cleaners work best? I've been considering a Dyson Animal (because I have cats). Your thoughts?
