We will be purchasing a high end mattress and box spring set. The company offers a "10 year mattress protection plan + machine washable allergy protective cover" for 0. Is this worth it? Under what circumstances would anyone employ a mattress protection plan?

I have become allergic to Tide laundry detergent. I share the same wash machine with my other three roommates, two of which use tide. Will they have to switch detergents to something hypoallergenic as well? Or will them using Tide in the same machine as me not effect my allergy? Also any tips [...]
