I have severe allergies, dust included. I take Zyrtec and it helps me immensely. If he is having trouble tolerating pills. maybe his allergist would prescribe him a nasal spray, such as Nasonex, Flonase or Astelin. I have used those in the past and they work well, sometimes even better than an allergy pill. He should talk to his allergist about those options. Just giving my advice.
