I am allergic to dust mites, roaches & dust based on allergy test I got done recently. Every night i go to bed, my nose blocks up completely and I am forced to breathe through the mouth. Now, in winter, the air in my bedroom is so dry that i wake up in the middle of sleep every single night with my throat so dry that I need to drink a glass of water to soothe it. And I developed chronic sore throat due to it.
I got a humidifier to take care of dry air and I kept it near my bed and turned it on every night before going to sleep. Although, my dry thorat reduced, it has made the edges of my bed wet by morning (because they spray moist vapors into air to reduce dry air), and my allergic reactions soared from blocked nose to watery & itchy eyes as well as blocked nose throughout the night. I presume that the constant moistness near the bed caused dust mites to increase significantly causing the increase in my allergic reactions.
So, I cannot use the humidifier cause it appears to help dust mites increase and I cannot sleep because the dry air is giving me a sore throat. Does anyone know a solution to this? Is there any product out there that can reduce dry air but does not create a breeding ground for dust mites?

1I’d recommend moving the humidifier away from the bed so it doesn’t get wet (dust mites do like moisture) and getting special allergy covers for the mattress/box spring/pillow (make sure dust mites are listed). Some humidifiers give more moisture than others and some are adjustable, maybe turn down the evaporation rate. Or try a small indoor water fountain which will slowly evaporate or a fish tank, they’d add moisture to the air, but I cant say whether it’d be enough for your situation.
These are just suggestions, your doctor could provide better advice based on your specific needs.

2You need an air "purifier" I think Brinks Company handles them.It takes all the impurities out of the air.You might look in the yellow pages under air purifiers.
