I have bed bugs in my apartment, I have done my research and know the difference between bed bugs and dust mites. I have webmd’ the bites on the arm and they are also a match for bed bugs. My plan is to vacuum out all my carpet and closet and dust everything, then to use the Bayer advanced indoor insect spray. then to vacuum my mattress and clean it dry so it doesn’t get mold with 20 mule team borax. then bagging up the mattress and box spring with tight hypo-allergenic covers, then buy new sheets, pillowcases, and pillows, any ideas to make this better? I’m a college student living in my apartment so needless to say I’m not loaded with money so calling the exterminator or replacing the mattress are too pricey for me right now. My landlord won’t do it for me, I’ve asked several times. PLEASE HELP ME!!! I WANT THOSE BUGS DEAD!!

1I got bed bugs when my cousin moved in. What I did was I took my bed frame apart, sprayed it with insect spray, washed it, sunned it along with my mattress for a couple of days. I also sprayed any cracks near my bed along the floor.
Good luck, took me 2 weeks to totally get rid of them.

5I feel your pain. I have been through this. Let’s get rid of bed bugs with the following steps!
1. Wash all your bedding items with HOT HOT water. Bed bugs cannot survive in heat over 10 degrees.
2. Use a steam cleaner on the mattress and any other bedding items that you cannot wash with hot water. That kills the existing bed bugs.
3. After everything is dried, instead of using a spray, use Bed Bug Powder that is available on the site below. The powder is 100% natural and no chemical contained. It is safe to humans and animals, but is deadly to bed bugs. Lightly sprinkle it on the mattress and all the crevices on the bed. That protect you from incoming bed bugs if any.
Bed bugs are very very good at hiding. We have tried sprays, bombs, foggies and even an exterminator, but bed bugs must have hidden somewhere. They came back after a few weeks.
Having an exterminator was the biggest mistake I think. It was way expensive, but all he did was to spray toxic liquid all over the house and made me sick for weeks, and it did not kill bed bugs.
But Bed Bug Powder will kill them all after that, and what I like it about is that it does not contain any toxic ingredient so that I don’t have to worry about my cat.
Since I started using Bed Bug Powder, I have not gotten any bed bug bites, and cat is healthy with no flea and ticks at all.
Good luck!
