I would be very concerned. All it takes is the wrong kid of spider bite and he will be sick. About a year ago when I first moved to Texas, my then 2 year old was getting mysterious bites all over him. I took him to the doctor and was told it was everything from a viral infection to hives to an allergic reaction. Then my mom did some research on bed bugs and sent pictures and it was an exact match. Then we actually starting seeing the bugs. We got the heck out of that apartment and left all the bedding and everything. It was a furnished apartment so it was someone previous who had them, yuck. If it's bed bugs, you'll need to get rid of all the bedding and buy all new, and put plastic covers on the furniture. Good luck, put a pic up.
