My son, 17 months old, is waking up with more and more bites on him. Ive searched his crib, replaced all bedding, cleaned everything like crazy, and something is STILL biting him…They are raised bites..very red, and the most recent one and two holes (like fang marks). Ive never seen a bug in this house before, and I’m really upset that I cant find whats doing this. I was thinkng bedbugs, but his crib mattress isn’t like ours…its got a plastic type outer cover. I didnt figure bedbugs could live on it…Someone PLEASE help me, it kills me knowing I cant help him!

2I suggest getting your place fumigated or just getting his room cleasred out and having a bug guy come and see what is going on and where bugs might be coming in.
I would be very concerned. All it takes is the wrong kid of spider bite and he will be sick.

3The two holes were most likely to separate bites….bed bugs or fleas.

4Could you possibly take a picture of the bites and post it? About a year ago when I first moved to Texas, my then 2 year old was getting mysterious bites all over him. I took him to the doctor and was told it was everything from a viral infection to hives to an allergic reaction. Then my mom did some research on bed bugs and sent pictures and it was an exact match. Then we actually starting seeing the bugs. We got the heck out of that apartment and left all the bedding and everything. It was a furnished apartment so it was someone previous who had them, yuck. If it’s bed bugs, you’ll need to get rid of all the bedding and buy all new, and put plastic covers on the furniture. Good luck, put a pic up.

5Fangs? Hm… Is it spring where you live? Might be some harmless or not so harmless spiders lurking around.

6is he in daycare or does he go to an in-home daycare? maybe it’s actually a rash and not bug bites? have you taken him to the doctor yet? you should if this is getting worse.

7Generally it’s spiders that leave the fang marks… try putting a piece of cedar somewhere in his crib. Spiders are afraid of cedar. It’s something about the scent. (obviously make sure your son can’t choke, eat of hurt himself with it)

8I had the same thing happen to my daughter a few months ago. I did the same things as you with no luck. Finally while I was changing her sheets AGAIN, a spider drifted down on top of them from between the slats of her crib. I had never seen a web or anything but there it was! Needless to say I killed it and never had a problem again. Check each slat, especially near the top!
