so i understand now that there are millions of little bugs feasting on my dead skin and pooping it out inside the mattress that i sleep on every night. This is so disgusting. I looked at the mattress covers for these things and they run a lot of money. How do you go to sleep knowing these bugs are there? No I am not allergic but still is it like bad for you or unhygenic to be laying on feces? Please help me get over this issue

1They are harmless…Just gross. Vacuum your mattress (1 time a month is fine) and any mattress cover is fine even put an old blanket or a thick sheet between the mattress and the sheet until you can get a mattress pad. They are in all dust just that you sleep and shed skin on your mattress for 8 hours a night.

3they’re also in the carpet, in your clothes, on your body and you breathe them in. They are the dust you find on your ceiling fans and shelves.
You’ll be okay

4The problem with dust mites is that some people are allergic to them. Those people should buy mattress and pillow covers so they don’t wake every morning with allergic reactions. It sounds like that doesn’t happen to you, so I wouldn’t worry.
You can, if you want, vacuum your mattress and box springs as much as you are able to move them around to do so. After that, just wash your sheets and pillowcases in hot water and detergent whenever you change them. That kills the mites and sanitizes things. When you wake every morning, throw your covers open all the way and leave them open for about twenty minutes before you make the bed. That dehydrates the mites so they die, too.

5If you are looking for a cheap dust mite cover, then encase your mattress with a plastic or garbage bag. Plastic does a great job, it cuts the dust mites off from their food source which is you and your skin flakes. Trouble is you will find it sweaty and the noise of the plastic would drive your crazy. Some encasings are only a small step away from a garbage bag- trust me I slept on one at my father’s condo this last Spring. Every time I turned over that darned crinkle sound woke me up. And I dare not take the cover off; the pillow was at least 30 years old! I was convinced I was sleeping on a bag of dust mites!
Also dust mites are tending to live warm place, and the matress and carpets are the most favorate place for them to live… so it is best to vacuum every week I suggest.
