For many few years I’ve had mild hayfever which was cleared up with an antihistamine from time to time when symptoms got bad. I also seem to have an allergy to cats (my mate has one, and my eyes get really itchy and my nose runs when I’m in her house).
This year my regular tablets don’t seem to be working. I normally use an own brand from TESCO, for example. I’ve used Claritin this time, but they don’t seem to have too much of an effect (but a lot more than the own brand).
In the last few months I have been waking up in a morning with either a blocked nose or a runny nose that needs blowing. During the day my nose is quite sniffly and have to blow it. Also, in the last few weeks my left eye has been constantly itchy, mainly nearer my nose. It sometimes feels like I have a cold, but with itchy eyes.
Today, I started using Benadryl, which is good, but based on my development of my other allergies, this might stop working. Should I ask to be tested for allergies including dust mites?
NB: My itchy eye and nose is mainly when I’m at home. I should also mention that my room can be the warmest room in the house (esp. during the summer months) and my room is frequently a mess. :S
EDIT: I meant my itchy eye and RUNNY nose, but I have had a really itchy nose too sometimes.
ARGH another EDIT!: Thought I should also mention that this year I have been sneezing loads. Also, I’ve never had any skin rashes or reactions.

1Quite possibly. I use singular for dustmites and clarinex for hayfever. If you are allergic to dustmites, get rid of rugs, curtains, stuffed animals, and carpeting. Wash your bedding in extra hot water.
