I recently started getting it the past year or two. It’s very itchy, and it’s started to spread to my neck a little bit. I’m pretty sure I’m allergic to something. Just the other day I stopped using conditioner and my body soap to see if that has anything to do with it. I also changed my pillows and blanket. I hate the heat and so I have my AC on all the time, so I don’t think it has anything to do with heat. But also, I didn’t get this until I started going through puberty SO that may have something to do with it. But that was when I was 11-ish and now I’m 14, and it’s getting worse? I don’t really have any acne on my face at all, by the way. I DO have an unhealthy diet, haha, but I always have, so why has it just started a couple years ago? My grandma bought me a special shampoo that is hypoallergenic and you use as soap as well. I just started using it for a couple days. It has..oh I forget..but it has some sort of grape stuff in it that has been proven to cleanse skin? Anyway, I would really really really appreciate help. (And I’m NOT pregnant, lol)

1Hi Riley, I’m a 14 year old boy and I have the same problem so hear me out. Alright well why is this all of a sudden you say? Well part of it is that before you hit puberty, you cant get acne, no matter how bad your diet is. Next, its on your chest neck and back, yup same exact thing as me. Now for the what-to-do portion lol, but seriously, what you have to do is go to your doctor. No exuses, do it. He will prescribe you medicine, and if it’s 1 a day don’t cheat, you have to do your best to do 1 a day without skipping a day or two. Now for the type of medication, ask your doctor about internal medicicines instead of external medicines. By the way, you want internal medicine in this case (in other words a pill or syrup/liquid type thing. But bassically tell him this, "What is most effectivwe and why;internal or external medicines?" Ask him that, he will explain better than I can. After you go to the doctor and you get your medicine do this:
When taking showers make sure you wash everywhere on your body, including your face, neck, back, and chest. But do not pop the pimples really, because then they’ll likely get infected and get bigger, eww. Also, lightly put soap on your chest, neck and back, (and face if you haveacne there too) then wash your hair and condition. Then AFTER you wash your back, neck, chest and everything again but normally this time, this will stop the oily soap from getting in your pores. Note: DOING THIS WILL NOT GET RID OF THE ACNE BUT HELP NO MORE FROM SPREADING OR GETTING WORSE FOR THE MOST PART.
I’m guessing your a girl? Idk Riley could be both right? Well if you are a girl:
-Dry your hair as best as you can after you shower, you DON’T want that wet and semi-oily hair from conditioner and shampoo on your skin!
And if your a boy your fine, unless you have long or medium length hair, if you do have longer hair, do the same thing I wrote for girls.
ALSO! dry where ever you have acne first when you get out of the shower, then dry your hair on the other side of the towel, then flip the towel over again and dry off your acned skin if it is damp from your wet hair. Then dry the rest of your body.
Well thats it, I give you my luck and best wishes, and remember GO TO THE DOCTER ASAP NO EXUCES! YOU DO NOT WANT YOUR ACNE TO SCAR, BECAUSE WHEN ITS ON YOUR BACK IT MAY NEVER HEAL IF YOU DONT TREAT IT SOON.
Aso, note: your back heals acne rather slow, so dont expect results for a month or a month in a half unless your doctor tells you otherwise.
Haha one more thing, that grape lotion clenses skin, not gets rid of acne, ask your doctor if it is okay to use it while on the medication. And go to the doctor ASAP, I cant say it enough tell your parents you have to! Because you do lol!
Again good luck~

2I’ve had the same problem since I was 13.
I’m 30.
All the drugs/creams/whatever in the world never helped or made things worse.
I hope things are better for you, youngster.

4I’m in my mid-thirties and still suffer from acne on my back and shoulders – and occasionally get a massive ripe one on the end of my nose. I’ve been suffering this since I was eighteen and the GP’s at my local surgery gave me no end of creams, etc., and I bought loads of stuff over the counter, but nothing worked – until finally I saw one GP at my local surgery last summer and he prescibed something called Oxytetracycline – a tablet I take twice a day, and it works wonders! There’s hardly anything there now.
If your acne really doesn’t go away during your teens, ask about Oxytetracycline. Obviously, your GP will advise on how safe it is for you to take it if you have any allergies or are on any other medication. In the meantime, though, be patient. In many cases, teenage spots really are just confined to teenage years!

5Acne can definitely affect your chest, shoulders and back (and still have a clear face). You will only find out exactly what it is when you consult a dermatologist. I don’t think your diet really is the problem.
If you suspect an allergy, then you should take note of the following:
-Wear 100% cotton clothing
-Use perfume free, dye free laundry and soap products
-Stay away from perfumes and colognes and scented products
-Use Cetaphil cleanser or Dove for sensitive skin (unscented) for washing
-You can have an allergic reaction to "all natural" product especially if they contain flower and fruit extracts. The grape stuff may not agree with your skin.
-Try to get 100% cotton Jersey sheets and 100% blanket for sleeping and hypoallergenic pillow.
-Use Zyrtec or Claritin antihistamine for itching.
If it still will not go away, then you should consult a dermatologist.
