At first I thought they were bedbugs but then one spread its wings & started flying so that ruled that option out. I found each on two separate occasions. I need to know how they got in my covers and what I need to do to get rid of them. I can’t sleep comfortable thinking there might be more somewhere in my mattress.. can anyone help??
Cockroaches don’t fly do they? This bug is as small as a fruit fly. I haven’t woken up with any type of bite that I’ve noticed…
i live in Los Angeles
***the bug might look large in pictures but it’s only around 2.5 millimeters (0.1 inches) like an ant or fruit fly… around that size***
I was looking at the website from the link below…. it looks a lot like a raspberry fruitworm…. I wonder if that’s what it is!
I really appreciate all your help =)

1But where do you live? They look like a nice little beetle to me, but hard to identify. Definitely a beetle, not a bedbug (too large, wrong colour) or a cockroach. Can you catch a couple and take them along to your nearest Natural History museum? They will be able to help and tell you if these beetles normally infest mattresses or are just there by coincidence. We get the odd poisonous spider in our bed – nasty – but beds are not their natural home. It’s probably a good idea to find out where they normally live before you do anything drastic like fumigating.
No, not a cockroach, but some of them can fly…
Have a look at this page and see if any of the beetle types look similar. It look a bit like a bark beetle to me, but I’d go to the experts..

5yea those bugs look definitely nasty! I suggest you wash your sheets immediately and have your whole room vacuumed. They could be feeding on some food you might have in your room or something that dropped on the floor. Then I would go to your local home depot and take the pictures and ask them they might be able to suggest you some bug spray to get rid of those creepy crawlers, good luck!

6They are definitely beetles. They are NOT cockroaches. They are not bed bugs. They are harmless beetles.
It looks like they are less than 1/4-inch long. Very small.
They may have been attracted to light or to food.
Again, they are not dangerous, but I would suggest you just use a little bug spray and not worry about them.
