She was prematurely born 3 weeks early, and her mom is no longer producing milk and is trying to kill her. I got up every hour last night to feed her kitten formula and make her go potty and she seems ok. She is alert and running around more than I've ever seen her. She did nurse somewhat for about a week so she should have the antibodies from mom by now, and the formula I have contains colostrum. All the other guinea pigs beat her up, and so I think she has imprinted my hands as being her mommy. So if I continue to handle quite often so she's not lonely (when I'm not holding her and she's awake she cries) and keep up everything else, do you think she'll through? She has made it a week so far, but at that point her mom had milk (and we had to force her to feed the babe in the first place). She is in a small wire carrying cage with a plastic base and hypoallergenic bedding that I keep partially covered with a sheet to keep her warm and make her feel cozy and safe. Any thoughts?
