All this news about dust mites is making my skin crawl. I’m entirely okay with all the other bugs that live on me–though I still cringe when reminded of them–but dust mites have too many negative aspects for me. So if someone could tell me, it would be MUCH appreciated!!

1It is just possible to see a dust mite under a magnifying glass, when the subject is well lit and placed on a black background. A typical house dust mite measures 420 µm in length and 250 to 320 µm in width.

4you really can’t see dust mites, that’s why it’s a good idea to vacuum your mattress often.

6House dust mites, due to their very small size (250 to 300 microns in length) and translucent bodies, are not visible to the unaided eye. For accurate identification, one needs at least 10X magnification.

9Microscopic. They actually don’t harm you, unless you are allergic.
