Any concerns about mites can be taken care of by freezing the pillow for at least a day every month.
You can remove the cover and wash it but do not get the hulls wet as they will never dry.Just re-stuff.You can also buy new buckwheat hulls to add yearly as they naturally break down.

1All pillows and bedding has dust mites. You can spray with Lysol and vacuum your bedding often,this will help cut down on them.
