I am transferring over to a university, and someone told me I should buy this "plastic mattress cover" to zip around the mattress to protect from bugs.
A bunch of people I talked to said they neither heard about it, or used one.
I just need some tips on what to buy, to keep bugs out of the room, and also to keep my matress safe. I’ll be in a loft bed, so it’ll be up attached to the wall.

1The dorms are fumigated every summer while the students are gone.
Keep food stored in air tight containers and do not leave empties and dirty plates in the room.
I would fore go using a plastic mattress cover. They will make you hot and "pers-pi-rey"(sweaty)!

2You can buy those mattress covered for about $20 at bed bath and beyond. Since your bed will be in a loft, at least you have no worries about people sitting on your bed.

3I have the zippered covers for all of my kids beds. they do not cost $60.00-much less
My son is in the south in the oldest dorm on campus. he never had trouble with bed bugs. If you want to keep bugs out of your room, keep it clean and free from food. empty the trash daily.
