   Yes, you can see them. How good is your eyesight is the question. They are red in color. If you kill them there is a terrible odor. It is an unique odor and that way tell whether they are bed bugs.

   If you have bugs, getting rid of it is not that easy. You got to do some physical, manual labor. Putting them out in the hot sun and flip the mattress over and washing it down with mild bleach solution is the only way.

   I feel sorry for anyone that has bed bugs. They are annoying little buggers alright.

   Bed bugs apparrently, live in all mattresses and no, they are not visible to the naked eye. since these creatures feed on dead skin and human body fluids you would need to try to minimise this source of food.
   Try vacueming the mattress thoroughly first, then you could use a disinfectant on both sides. Allow to dry, then vacuem again thoroughly.
   Finish by covering mattress with a waterproof sheet similiar to those used in a hospital. Leave this sheet in place for a week or so and you should see a big improvement.

   Buy a bb proof cover for mattress or get a less expensive one and tape zipper with duct tape.

   Google bbs and educate yourself since it is complicated and you need to know a lot to prevent and get rid of the little vampires.
