You can buy a steamer that will kill them and many other allergens, like cat dander. The type I mean are like the ones you would use to steam a garment.
I don’t believe you can kill dust mites. There are products to control them. I use products from http://www.allergyasthmatech.com for health issues like this. They have quality products.
Vacuum mattress
mattress in sun
wash linens
cover pillows & mattress with plastic liner.

Sun has UV rays; however, the most effective is UVC rays. There is a new company (perhaps you can start one in your area) that found this truly kills mites. http://www.thebedmed.com .
There must be other companies that do it, too.
My son’s best friend is doing this is SD. The machine with two 2-foot UVC lamps is a $600 unit. Wow. It sure improved my allergies after he did the mattress & upholstered living room furniture.
Dust mites are a fact of life. You have mites living on your skin, feeding on the dead cells. Dust in your house is mainly dead skin cells, you can research this for yourself, but that’s the fact. So, you will always have these mites, no killing or removing them.
