Alright, my fiance has been getting some minor itchy bumps, similar to say a mosquito bite in the morning when she wakes up… naturally I do some research and either figure it to be fleas or bed bugs (I heard about the new outbreak lately). So, I check all 4 of my pets, 2 dogs, 2 cats for fleas… nothing. So, I shoot right for the bed bug thing, I do some searching on the mattresses and the surrounding area, I didn’t find anything but thought I might have disturbed something because she didn’t notice any bites for a few days… Also, I must not have a reaction, because I do not get bites. Anyways, this morning she wakes me up out of a sleep and says she thinks shes caught one, but already kind of mangled it, I look at it with a 30X jeweler’s loupe but couldn’t really tell what it was, so I immediately flip the covers bank and find 1 other small bug. I catch it under my finger, this thing was small and fast, and did NOT look anything like a bed bug, I trap it under some clear wrap so get a good look at it with the jeweler’s loupe, this bug was not like the typical flat beetle-like bug like a bed bug looks like, it was kind of long and skinny maybe 1/16 – 1/8"" long and almost had a a slithery-wiggle when it was trying to avoid me, but very fast and it did have legs. Finally after about 5 minutes of looking at it, I decided to kill it with my finger nail, and low and behold it was filled with blood. I’ve been researching online for 2-3 hours without any real leads… can anyone tell me what these little blood suckers are?! Thanks!
