   All you can do is keep things clean. Wash your sheets in hot water and/or bleach once a week to kill them. Do not have any extra things around that could collect dust mites, such as decorative pillows and snuffed animals. Have wood floors where you can, and vaccum daily all rugs. Use blinds instead of curtains. You could also use plastic cover over furniture and pillows.

   Wow that is tough. There are special sheets and pillows made for this allergy. I would think getting rid of carpets would help. I hope you keep a clean house, you will need to. Good luck to you.

   This is a really common allergy. The bad part is that you can never get rid of these things, they are around you and on you for life. I read that your mattress will gain 2 pounds per year in dust mite poop. That is a lot of dust mites. I would try the mattress, and pillow covers first. Next I would get a rainbow vacuum as it filters the dust from your carpets through water followed by a hepa filter. No vacuum on the market will do a better job at preventing the dust mites in your rugs from re-entering the air. Also if you have a forced air furnace use the 3M high quality filters and change them on a regular basis. You can even go out and get a rug steam cleaner and this will do a good job at taking them out of your carpets, and furniture.

   Invest in a vacuum with a hepa filter (just read the different types at the store) I personally prefer dyson. Anyhow, Ive found that vacuuming often, more than once a week helps to eliminate dust mites in the home. Also, use febreeze allergen reducer helps to kill dust mites too. You will want to vacuum your matress regularly and wash your sheets often. I know it sounds like a lot of work, but worth it to feel better.

   If you are really serious about all of it, you can invest in a new hvac system that has many air changes per hour and will completely suck out the dust from your home and bring in new air instead of partially recycled or completely recycled air. These systems are very expensive and used in hospitals and healthcare settings but they are worth it if you are seriously suffering from allergens and dust mites.

   The trick is to just keep cleaning – they wont go away, but you can reduce them by vacuuming often with a vacuum that doesnt leave dust behind and using some febreeze daily.

   You need to get an air purifier and a HEPA vacum dust everyday wear a dust mask when you dust. Do not sleep with any stuffed animals or anything like that go to Bed Bath and Beyond and get the allergy reducing covers for your mattress and pillows.
   If you have carpet look into getting it replaced with something like hardwood.

   Hi! i am allergic to dust mites as well…allergic to lots of things actually…
   It will be hard to get rid of dust mites as it accumulates as time goes by specially if you don’t clean the house on a regular basis. And when cleaning, be sure to have a damp cloth to cover your nose. Good luck dear!
