   To relieve the pain I would say go to the pharmacy and get a shampoo with "tar". Use it are regular soap……it stinks but helps. Eat some "fish oil" capsules (the omega ones), this will add some fatty lipids to your skin. Wear cotton, preferably white, synthetics do not allow skin to breath. Take luke warm shower. Do not use bleach or "smelly" detergents in wash (get rid of irritants) including air sprays, harsh household chemicals (wash floor with viniger and water, bathtub with baking soda), use baking soda as tooth paste, keep the air hydrated (use a humidifier), do not use under arm deodarant, perfume, hair spray, makeup, do not shave your legs (allergy reaction to metal may contribute), use cotton pillows and covers (no dawn-filled or synthetic), put cotton curtains on not blinds, eat foods bland, hope this works (from the standpoint of natural pathic meds)

   If you are under a dermatologist's care, why are you seeking help in this forum? If you think your doctor is unable to treat you properly, get another doctor. Eczema is not an infection, it is an inflammatory process and there are many treatments but no know "cure" for it. You will have to try various agents to control the outbreaks until you find something that works for you. No over-the-counter product works as well as prescription medications; so, as I said follow your doctors recommendations and get another opinion if you are unhappy with your current therapy.

   I had a severe case on my scalp, had never had eczema before, dr put me on olux (external use foam), cleared it up, never came back.

   have you thought it might be what you eat? i am allergic to wheat and corn. the books i read said that if you were allergic to cows milk as a baby you will be allergic to these things. since i got off them some of my symptoms have cleared up, but i have missed something. have to start over.

   Yes. You may need zinc….when taken in the recommended dosage of 30-150 mg daily, this nutrient can prevent acanthosis, which is a thickening of the skin seen in serious cases of acne, eczema and psoriasis. I is as effective as the antibiotic tetracycline, without the side effects.

   Vitamin A…Taking a minimum of 10,000 IU daily has been shown to cure acne…

   Vitamin E…In order to heal skin lesions and scar tissue, both internally and on the surface, 200-800 IU daily of vit. A can be used. Also helps skin to stay younger.

   Lecithin… needed for healthy skin… on and on it goes. pg. 464-465

   Studies have shown that chromium helps fight acne. Refined sugar, white flour and lack of exercise all rob the body of chromium. Chromium can be found in brewers yeast, complex carbohydrates and fresh fruit. A daily dose of 200 mcg is suggested to guarantee proper blood sugar regulation.

   Hi!

   My 9 year old son has severe eczema and has since he was a baby. I buy him Aveeno lotion and if he puts it on every night, he never breaks out at all. If he does miss a night or two, it is really bad, but once he starts using it again, it clears up and REALLY fast also, so I would definitely recommend it! Hope this helps!

   I know what you are going through. I have a severe skin disease including eczema. I have had mine all my life so over 40 years. I to have many allergies. I am tired of making the skin doctors richer, because nothing is helping. I know you were looking for a better answer. I JUST WANTED TO LET YOU KNOW YOU ARE NOT ALONE. God Bless you

   Hello, there.
   A year ago I wouldn't even dare go out of the house my face was so horrible with the thick crust of dried up ooze. Then I discovered Champori anti-eczema herbal cream and spray and – thank God! – it worked like magic: my skin got back to normal in just 2.5 weeks and has stayed normal for the last 15 months!!    heredity and genetics play a vital role in passing eczema from one generation to another. it may appear at some point in your lives especially when the immune system is low. it can also be triggered by skin irritants and allergens and extreme hot weather. make sure you keep your child's skin clean at all times.

   to avoid eczema flare ups there are lot of things to consider like:

   * keeping fingernails trimmed
   * using an all natural moisturizer throughout the day will be helpful in keeping skin moist
   * hydrating the skin by drinking loads of water
   * avoiding foods that are processed and that have preservatives
   * use natural fabrics that are soft
   * avoid tight, rough and scratchy clothes
   * do not sweat it, avoid activities that makes you sweat
   * avoid temperatures that are extremely hot and cold
   * avoid drastic change of weather
   * try not to scratch the infected area
   * watch and check out diet
   * avoid long baths
   * get rid of skin irritants like dust and pollens
   * keep your environment clean
