It could be bed bugs, but what are your other symptoms? Are they in a line?

The best way to check for bed bugs (since they hide from light) is to keep a flashlight near your bed and wake up before dawn and check under your covers for them without russling about too much. If you find any, the only way to get rid of them is by extermination since they can live in your mattress, under the baseboard on your wall, behind picture frames... they are very hard to get rid of!

I had them, and the bites were itchy for me, not painful... if you want I can talk to you via message if you want. Just message me and I can help you further if you need it!
