I am told to buy a firm latex mattress and use a wool topper. What is wool like to sleep on?
Is it soft or Itchy?
Does it make you really hot?
Should the wool topper be encased in a hypoallergenic, zippered cover?
Is anyone familiar with the mattresses from www.savvyrest.com ? They make a 9" latex mattress. This seems my best choice as I have an antique bed that requires an obscure dimension.

1One thing I can tell you is this:
Don't get a wool topper; it is itchy, and makes you pretty hot, and if you're sweaty, you will feel extra icky on the wool.
Hope it helps-

2I would imagine that latex mattresses are recommended for hypo-allergyns and to deter dust mites from building up in the bed. I choose my beds by my body temp first, then the softness second. If you have a warmer core temperature and / or live in a warmer climate, steer clear of wool toppers and memory foam…they will make you much hotter, which (of course) makes them great if you always feel cold.
