There is nothing wrong with dust mites but if you wanna get rid of them freeze your pillow, it gets rid of 92% of them.

Dust mites are good as they eat dead skin cells and dust so technically there is no reason to get rid of them unless you have asthma. On average a person has 5,000,000 dust mites on ones pillow.

Hoped it helped.

Sounds like it will spoil your pillow. I would suggest you to put them out in the sunshine for about half a day.

Heat is the best way to kill dust mites, but feather pillows are one of the best breeding grounds for dust mites. The tumble dry will kill the mites, but they will be back. You could also use: Blow drier, sunlight, etc... more heat the better i believe around 160 degrees will kill 100% of the mites, but don't burn your house down! Also if you really want to get rid of the dust mites.

1. Clean all your linen. (wash in hot water, dry hot, etc.) Add bleach if you can.
2. Open your windows... let the sunlight come in.
3. Clean your air.. either use a air purifier or just open some windows.
4. Air conditioning will help also, since it will keep the humidity down. (Dust mites love humid environments)

Remember that you can never get rid of dust mites completely, but you can significantly reduce their numbers by just cleaning.

After this I would recommend that you purchase a good plastic encasing (can be found at Wal-mart, bed bath and beyond, etc)... that will cover your pillows and bed (especially the bed, they love beds).
