I have ruled out pretty much all other possible causes of intense itchiness of the skin and very intense sneezing
I have had the cat for eight years and not noticed a problem before.
About 6 months ago I had very intense itching in bed and got rid of a body spray and was ok
I have covered my mattress with an anti-allergen/dust mite cover and have laundered all by bed linen with non-perfume non-allery detergent.
Yesterday I bought a non-allergy duvet cover and I also enclosed my pillows in non-allergy/dust mite zip-up covers and put them in freshly laundered pillowcases.
Last night I went to bed and I was still itching like crazy. I got up and sneezed several times, very intensely.
I cant go to Dr. until Monday and I think I’ll go mad if I don’t get some sleep by the end of the weekend! I don’t think it is scabies because I have no physical contact with anyone nor do I share towels, linens etc
Can you help?? I am going nuts

1There are many allergy doctors who are going to tell you its that cat right away. Example: Someone I know went to a Dr. he told her to get rid of her one cat. She went back a while after and he asked her if she still had the one cat. She answered no and he immediately said that she was 100% better. Her response was ""Really? Because now I have two cats!" < True story. So when you do go to the doctor, make sure he is not pulling your leg. But, from my experience, your alergy to your cat can not be a sometimes type of deal. You may be allergic to your laundry detergent or your dryer sheets, or even the material of your sheets. But your cat, I am not to sure about that one.

3i dont think so. im pretty sure that its a constant thing
but they can develop at any time. so it is not weird that you were not allergic for 8 years.
but go see the doctor and get professional help

4Can you get an allergy test? This is the only way to know for sure.
If the itching is really that bad, take an antihistamine and/or cover yourself in calamine lotion. I’m allergic to mossie bites, and this is only thing that works for me! The calamine lotion may come off on your sheets, but it washes off. The antihistamine may also help you sleep.
In 30 years of cat ownership, I’ve found some cats trigger my cat allergies more than others. And, yes, allergies can spring up at any time. My mum became suddenly allergic to the carrier used in a certain Ibuprofen product, and had to be rushed to hospital in shock. Scary.
