Dust mites are microscopic arachnids that feed on dead skin. They infest beds and carpets by the tens of millions, and there can be as many as 1,000 mites in one gram of dust. They are a major problem because they cause can some wheezing, itching, other allergic reactions, and possibly asthma. There is no way to completely eliminate dust mites, but there are methods to control them through chemical control or avoidance. Our web site was created with the purpose of educating the public through informative articles and news about dust mites and related allergies…
This dust mite issue has gotten out of hand. They are tiny microscopic mites that constantly live in/on dust. They are not harmful to humans, but it is a good idea to keep things clean by dusting. The idea that they are harmful is just a modern day "old wives tale" used to sell everything from cleaners to vacuums.
No, dust mites can not live on your body and when you wash your linens dust mites are killed and washed away they can not survive hense the saying wash your clothes and linens in hottest water the clothes can handle Good Luck !
No they cannot. They live in beds and bed linen usually as they feed off dead skin cells. Washing will kill them if its in hot water. They dont cause problems unless you have allergies in which case regularly vacuum you mattress and use a good quality waterproof mattress protector will keep them to a minimum.
