A doctor can tell you whats going on. If you leave these bites unattended then they could become infected and develop and spread into a major staff infection known as MRSA. Rather than getting an exterminator I take my cat/dog (or borrow a friends) and cover them in bug poison (specifically for putting on cats/dogs of course). They wander around, draw all the bugs and kill them. One does over have to abstain from playing with the pet for awhile (or wash hands a lot).
