okay so i just found out today that i have a bed bug infestation. On a scale of 1 to 10 its a bout a 4.5 the bed bugs seemed to be contain to my box spring and not my mattress(but that’s from what i have noticed). my bed frame is all metal so i will be scrubbing/soaking that down with bleach a few more times until i am convinced it is safe. so i have wrapped the box springs in plastic and will be through them out asap. i will also be vacuuming my mattress soon and getting a plastic mattress cover. wanted to know should i get new box spring or get slatted bases? also are there other ways to make sure that these pain in the arse are gone for good.??
thank you

2LeAnn, really, the only truly way of havin peace of mind is having an exterminator exterminate for you since–of all the pests–I have read bedbugs are the most resilient pests that can survive pretty much what is used on other pests. You should consider dry cleaning all of your clothes, and I’d throw out the mattress.
So, you may ought to try to get a few free exterminator estimates. Fortunately, there are plenty of exterminator contractors seeking to give free estimates/consultations with no obligation, and taking advantage of this is the consumer-smart way to go about finding an accurate answer to your question. A lot of factors really bear on the cost of such an extermination, including the following: The cost of material (i.e., pesticides, even organic should they have it and if you want it) and labor greatly varies by location.
Helping you another way: As I said, Free estimates from local exterminator contractors are the key to your success in this situation. Here’s a great link to a handyman site that offers very resourceful information to assist you in determining the cost of your predicament, and, ultimately, selecting a local exterminator contractor in an effort to get the best deal for you:

I’m sure you’ll find the information, specifically the tips, useful.
