We moved into a new rented place a week and a half ago. After the first night we woke up covered in bites which we now know are from bed bugs…. Since then we have been sleeping on the couch but we are still getting bitten lots. We informed the landlord, who came and took away the old bed (we were always going to replace it with our own) and sent out pest control. After the first visit we were still getting bitten so they came back a few days later. We were certain after a second visit we should be ok, so we moved our (expensive) new bed in. We settled down that night for what we thought was going to be the first bed bug free night in ages, as I have been finding it very difficult to sleep whilst this is going on. However around 5am I woke up itching, turned on the light and saw our new mattress covered in bed bugs!!! So now that is ruined. Can anyone tell me why they are not dying?? This is such an annoying problem, I am bitten so badly and suffering terrible insomnia. The landlord said we might just have to move out, but this would be a shame as we only just moved in….
