Hi,

I’m planning on moving, and the only piece of furniture that I couldn’t get rid of was my bed. That’s ok, since I never really wanted to get rid of it in the first place. I do however, need advice on how to safely move my bed. I plan on tying it to the top of my car.

1) It’s a full sized bed and box spring
2) The car I’ll be driving is a SUV
3) The distance is going to be around 400 miles.

A) I know I’ll need rope and cords, but are there any specific types made just for this? Where can I buy/rent these?
B) I’ll probably need some sort of a cover as their are tons of bugs on the drive back. Where can I buy/rent something like that?
C) I heard the mattress should go under the box spring on the drive back. Any idea why this is true or false?
D) The top of my car does not have any handles or loops to tie it around. Is it safe/legal to leave windows open and tie it around the hood that way?

Any other advice would be appreciated.
